You need to understand the big picture before you can start changing the little things because all the little things make up that big picture. In the permaculture sense this means we need to understand the greater ecosystem our garden is part of before we begin designing our own system. It also means that instead of only looking at what’s best for ourselves and our situation we should look at our community and planet as a whole live according to what’s best for everyone.
